Brief Description:
Control and direct all site vehicle traffic, material handling, stores management, security and waste management for a project.

Overview of the Role:
- To assist in managing an efficient construction operation, to achieve health & safety, quality and production delivery requirements within the constraints of the project cost plan
- Make sure all necessary permits in place before commencing work in accordance with method statements and project requirements
- Monitor warning signs of issues that could affect the programme of work
- Record resources use daily
- Become familiar with all relevant design information. Learn to read and understand drawings. Start to look ahead of the works happening on site.
- Become proficient in the use of the company management system. Understand what “Good” looks like and play a part in making
- Establishing work area protection and safety in the workplace
- Good understanding of health and safety issues
- Assist in ensuring that all building operations are carried out safely, in strict accordance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy and the operation-specific RAMS.
Management of Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace - Play a key role in administering the environmental, safety and health documentation – ensure paperwork is of the required standard and content and is filed correctly and promptly.
- Assist with ensuring that necessary action is promptly taken when subcontractors/suppliers fail to meet any pre-agreed or company requirements.
- Take every possible opportunity to improve your knowledge and development – expand the breadth of your knowledge-base as well as the depth.
- Carrying out ad-hoc tasks as required by the line manager
- Preparing operating powered units, tools or pedestrian plant, machinery or equipment in the workplace
- Support with the day to day provision of a critical site support service to a construction workforce Work safely and competently in a site based environment always adhering to Group Health and Safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To undertake an agreed programme of learning that leads to gaining a recognised qualification as part of an apprenticeship framework/standard.
- To actively participate in your development plan under the supervision of your line manager, sub-contractor management team and the College assessor

- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is used at the appropriate time for each task being undertaken.
