Three of the Best Luxury Restaurants Near One Blackfriars

One Blackfriars is one of the Berkeley Group's most spectacular developments, and, as with all of our properties, is situated in a location handpicked for its superb local attractions. For those special occasions and 'just because', there are numerous luxury restaurants in the vicinity. We've selected three of the very best to give you a flavour of what's in store.

OXBO Bankside

Modern industrial chic meets hunting lodge at the OXBO Bankside, a thoroughly British restaurant that isn't afraid to take a few ingenious risks. In keeping with the restaurant's eclectic-but-luxurious aesthetic, OXBO's executive chef, Paul Bates, has created a menu firmly rooted in the traditional, but with a distinct flair. Highlights include Dorset snails with prosciutto, Wagyu beef burgers, and duck breast with mandarin jus. The OXBO also offers two bottomless menus on a weekend; brunch on Saturday, and traditional dinner on Sunday. In keeping with the OXBO's premium fayre, they are of course quite unlike any other bottomless menus you're likely to experience. Brunch offers everything from malted pancakes to tiger prawns, and the Sunday dinner features traditional dishes such as roasted sirloin, along with artisanal cheeses and more. Unlimited Prosecco and Bloody Marys are included. OXBO is a five-minute stroll from One Blackfriars, located on Great Suffolk Street within the Hilton London Bankside. Reservations for breakfast, lunch and dinner can be made online.

Sea Containers Restaurant

Those that love to indulge in a particular aesthetic when they dine out will adore the Sea Containers Restaurant; a love letter to 1920s transatlantic travel. While the establishment does encourage a fairly casual atmosphere, there's no denying the luxurious touches that hark back to a time when sea travel was an event to dress up for. The Sea Containers' menu is equally as Atlantic as its decor, bringing together the best of British and American cuisine. Seasonal oysters and Welsh pork share card with cheeseburgers and pumpkin pie, though all dishes are a delight, and only the highest quality ingredients are used. The cruise ship-inspired Sea Containers building is located just across Upper Ground from One Blackfriars, directly on the banks of the Thames. Reservations for breakfast, lunch and dinner can be made online, with brunch available on weekends.

OXO Tower Restaurant

The OXO Tower is one of the trendiest destinations on the South Bank, and for more than 20 years has been home to Harvey Nichols' very first restaurant. Situated on the eighth floor of the landmark, it also sits beside a bar and brasserie. It's the full-fledged restaurant that discerning guests should book at if looking for a refined and luxurious experience. The menu has pan-European influence, made with the very best British ingredients, and all dishes are impeccably cooked. A visit to OXO gives a real sense of occasion - even if you're not celebrating. From the atmosphere, views and decor, to the superb food, this is one of the area's best restaurants. OXO Tower can be seen from many of One Blackfriars' floors, and is just a short stroll down Upper Ground, beside Bernie Spain Gardens. Reservations for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner can be made online.
