Berkeley Group is celebrating National Apprenticeship Week by opening applications for its award-winning apprenticeship programme, offering exciting career pathways in technical, commercial, business, and site management.
Based in London and the South of England, the programme offers a competitive package, dedicated study time, expert mentoring, employee benefits, and hands-on training with industry leaders.
Berkeley apprentices will be joining welcoming and supportive teams, and will be part of a positive working environment based around respect, support, wellbeing, safety and inclusivity.
Applications are open until 28 March. Assessment Centres take place in April and May and the start date is 8 September 2025.
Catherine Hawkett, Berkeley Group Future Skills Manager, said:
“We’re delighted to be opening our apprenticeship programme and are now searching for diverse and talented people to join our fantastic teams. We warmly welcome applications from the communities around our sites and offer a range of skills and personal development support to help people of all ages and backgrounds to build a lasting career with Berkeley.
“We’re proud that over 9% of our total workforce are in ‘earn and learn’ roles and we’re committed to supporting people in the early stages of their careers.”
Orlaithe Whelan, Apprentice Quantity Surveyor at Alexandra Gate, said:
“I’ve learnt things during my time on the programme that I couldn’t ever have learned from a book, and you can’t put a price on that and the knowledge you gain day to day.
“I’ve been so happy here. We make a real impact on communities, transforming brownfield sites into thriving, attractive places. Seeing that transformation is incredibly rewarding.”
The first stage of the application process is anonymised to ensure fairness and remove unconscious bias. Berkeley actively supports diversity and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. This inclusive approach has earned recognition, including ‘Apprenticeship Initiative of the Year’ at the London Build Expo’s London Construction Awards 2024 and ‘Candidate Assessment’ at the In-house Recruitment Awards 2024.
Berkeley supports skills development through a network of dedicated skills managers, mentors, the Berkeley Academy training centre, an online Learning Management System, and a network of external training partners.
