Ian Dobie, Managing Director of St George West London commented, "We were delighted to gather together so many people who have contributed towards the success of the Community Sports Trust at Brentford Football Club. To have 3 Mayors and 2 Deputy Mayors present demonstrates just how well thought of the Trust is across 5 of London's Boroughs. Our sponsorship of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has enabled a number of projects to be launched, including the sponsorship of the Girls and Ladies football and an important Disabilities programme. Our sponsorship of the Club now extends to over nine years and we believe this re-affirms our commitment to the Club and most importantly the community that it serves." St. George and Brentford Football Club have forged a strong community partnership, which has ensured that thousands of local school children continue to enjoy FREE in-school football coaching. Brentford FC has long had a reputation as a family club that thrives on working with the community. The funding provided by St. George, allows the Community Sports Trust to embark upon a programme aimed at providing employment opportunities for apprentices as well as focusing on a range of local projects across the 3 boroughs. This partnership was also recognised at the 2007 Football League Awards with Brentford FC and St George winning the Best Club Sponsorship Award.
