London has long been a treasure trove of British design inspiration, offering a rich tapestry of architectural styles, interior design and artistic forms.
At Camden Goods Yard, we want to continue to showcase this fantastic heritage through the design of our spaces, and we are delighted to be working with leading interior design firms to bring this to life.
This includes Atellior – the architecture and interior design studio behind our latest one-bedroom Showhome, The Rossetti.
The Rossetti Showhome
Spearheaded by Atellior’s Executive Director and Founder Una Barac and Interior Designers Jennifer Raderschadt and Joe McCall, the team set out to celebrate British craftsmanship.
Walls are lined with wallpaper from Graham & Brown - one of England’s oldest and most respected wallpaper designers – and are complemented by William Morris-inspired elements, such as fringed cushions and floral prints.
Throughout the home, subtle nods to British icons such as Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood have influenced the fabric choices. The headboard, in particular, has an elegant but distressed look with embroidered details reminiscent of the works of McQueen’s AW16 collection.
Made Bespoke
Nearly every piece in the new Showhome is bespoke, curated or sourced by the expert team at Atellior and pays homage to British craftsmanship. From the statement armchairs to the dining table made with marble crafted by British stonemasons, the design team has prioritised local, high-quality pieces.
In the living space you can find a Conall three-seater sofa covered in a ‘Bottega Shell’ soft red fabric from Warwick and companion armchair, in a beautiful Khaki green colouring, with distinct white curved lines.
The adjacent dining area features complementary re-upholstered Bengala dining room chairs which feature an abstract interpretation of the Bengal tiger coat to transform the space with distinctive lined patterns and a visually striking design.
Commenting on the importance of local design for the benefit of people and planet, Una said: “We’re not flying things in from catalogues across the globe. This is about taking a mindful, considered approach to how people live and where things come from.”
An Artist’s Touch
A key element of the home’s creative vision is the collaboration with London-based artist Katie McGowan, founder of the expressive art style - Wavism.
Her oil paintings are exhibited throughout the one-bedroom apartment and her signature wavy style found within these can be seen reflected in some of the chosen upholstery - connecting art and interior design in ways that are both subtle and impactful.
Two original pieces, created by Katie for The Rossetti, feature prominently in the living space and showcase flowers in a beautiful pink colour palette. Bringing calmness to the room, the floral focal point nods to the development’s proximity to renowned green spaces like Regent’s Park, Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill.
Bringing Nature to the Fore
In honour of London’s iconic parks, as well as the greenery found across Camden Goods Yard, the Atellior team incorporated elements of the natural world into the new Showhome.
The team leveraged indoor planting, natural textiles and woody tones to create a space that seamlessly connects the home to the surrounding area, instilling a sense of tranquillity more typically found away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
