Berkeley Group's divisions are welcoming 42 new starters onto graduate and apprenticeship programmes. The 29 new graduates and 13 apprentices are a key part of the company's continued investment in the next generation of talent and efforts to tackle the industry’s skills challenges.
The new intake adds to the total number of employees across the group who have benefited from accredited ‘earn and learn’ training roles. The current figure stands at roughly 250, which includes around 120 apprentices, over 50 graduates and 80 sponsored students undertaking at least a year of accredited training. An average of 9.5% of Berkeley’s employees were in earn and learn roles in 2023-2024, which reflects the company’s long-term commitment to developing skills and improving access to built environment careers.
Berkeley’s trainees are key to supporting the future of the company, as it brings forward 32 of the country’s most challenging long-term regeneration sites. The fresh ideas and perspectives they bring will also support Berkeley Group's recently announced plans to back the Government's drive to build new homes.

The graduates and apprentices are beginning their programmes with a 2-week long induction and will then move on to their tailored training courses, working with industry-leading experts and gaining hands-on experience.
The participants have already had a chance to get out on site, with a tour of Royal Arsenal Riverside. A further tour of Lombard Square is planned for later this week and over the course of their programmes, they will visit a number of Berkeley’s major brownfield regeneration sites.
The graduates and apprentices have had the chance to meet and network with senior leaders from across the business including divisional MDs. Coming up next week, CFO Richard Stearn, will deliver a presentation on Finance. Berkeley supports skills development through a network of dedicated skills managers, mentors, the Berkeley Academy training centre, an online Learning Management System, and a network of external training partners.
