The Woodberry Down Partnership celebrated an exciting milestone in January, at the 'topping out' of a new building that will provide 81 more affordable homes for Hackney.
Attendees included the Design Committee of community partners, who finalised plans for the building in 2018.
The event marks the completion of the structure, with the block adding 275 more tenure-blind homes to Woodberry Down.
Working together, Woodberry Down Community Organisation, Manor House Development Trust, London Borough of Hackney, Notting Hill Genesis and Berkeley Homes have already built 1,800 homes on the site.
When completed, the neighbourhood will have three new public parks, two schools and a children's centre, as well as a new library and community centre.
28 local apprentices are already amongst the build team, and this number is set to increase in 2020, with the wider workforce doubling to more than 300.
