Last week, Berkeley held its first consumer webinar designed to help prospective buyers navigate the property market, whatever stage of the process they're at.
With insight from industry professionals from across the sector including Savills and property commentator and influencer Kate Faulkner, as well as Manak Solicitors, moving support consultancy Moving Made Easy, and mortgage advisor Heron Financial, the session helped bring much-needed clarity into the buying process.
As part of the webinar, the experts shared some information on the latest homebuying trends, which have undergone a significant shift over the past nine months. This year, many have come to appreciate the importance of being close to nature and having access to green space. With flexible working becoming the norm across a number of industries, good internet connection and space for a home office are now a very important consideration for house-hunters, which has led to heightened demand for homes with such features.
The panellists also discussed some of the more practical questions around financials, helping buyers understand where to start their homebuying journey and learn more about the assistance they can get in the form of schemes, like Assisted Move and government incentives, like the Chancellor's Stamp Duty holiday, which is in place until the end of March 2021.
Property veteran Kate Faulkner shared her market observations, which helped explain why buying should be led by personal considerations and circumstances as we live in a world of constant change.
