This week marks the start of Open Doors, a week-long initiative by Build UK. It is a unique chance for members of the public to visit some of the UK's landmark, large-scale building projects. The Berkeley Group is opening nine active building sites across London, from Southall Waterside in the west, to Royal Arsenal in the east. These visits give people the opportunity to see what goes on behind the hoardings: to understand how the industry operates and inspire them to think about a career in construction.
The demand for talented, motivated people in construction is huge and perceptions of the industry and the roles that it offers are changing fast. House building today can be worthwhile, cutting edge and well rewarded.
Through initiatives such as Open Doors, we hope to inspire young people, showcase the opportunities available, and welcome the next generation of house builders onto our sites.
Some of our sites are fully booked, but if you are interested in coming along please see Open Doors to reserve a space.

What is Build UK Open Doors?
Each year Build UK encourage construction sites across England, Scotland and Wales to open their doors for a set 'Open Doors' period, giving visitors a chance to see behind the scenes. It allows local residents to discover how the buildings and structures in their community are constructed, and to find out about the diverse range of skills and professions needed on site.
The aim is to inspire people by the growing industry, and learn how to start their career in construction.
