Regeneration in Action: Regent’s View on the Canal

Watch our video to take a behind-the-scenes look at how we’re transforming part of East London at Regent’s View on the Canal, and discover why we’re so passionate about revitalising brownfield land.

On the fringe of the city in E2, a former gasholder site is being transformed to introduce a fresh new way of living and adding to a well-established community that threads alongside the Regent’s Canal.

When completed, Regent’s View on the Canal will open up a stretch of Regent’s Canal that has been inaccessible for more than 150 years and create almost two acres of public space. This will include a children’s playspace, natural habitats, and a mix of cafés and bars, as well as an array of residents’ facilities such as a screening room, residents’ lounge, rooftop bar, squash court, wellness centre, 24-hour concierge, creative studio and co-working space.

A great brownfield regeneration should not only bring superb amenities to an area but also integrate an architecture that references local heritage and character. We worked with internationally acclaimed architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners on the masterplan design, which will see five colourful cylindrical-shaped buildings, two of which will sit within restored Victorian gasholder frames. In our video, Senior Partner Graham Stirk talks about creating a place to live that has a “sense of belonging” and a feeling of “wow”.

In 2023-24, 87% of the homes we built were on regenerated brownfield land. We work in partnership with local authorities and communities to transform these underused spaces over the long-term. We use our expertise and resources to deliver neighbourhoods that are unique, welcoming, and rich in nature and biodiversity.
