Founder of Leading Fashion Brand Finds Home at Berkeley’s Knights Quarter

Good food, a bustling market, and a cathedral brimming with history – just three of the things the city of Winchester is best known for. But the popular city is also known for its fantastic connectivity, which is exactly what drew Harry Griffiths (29) to a new home at Berkeley’s Knights Quarter development, just 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre. The joint founder of luxury accessories brand Pom Pom London, Harry, relocated from West London but found he could still enjoy the conveniences of a well-connected location 60 miles away in Winchester.

Harry owned a two-bedroom maisonette for six years in Baron’s Court, West London, before deciding he wanted to move further South to be closer to his office in Ringwood, Hampshire.  He comments: “I’d been contemplating moving closer to Ringwood for about a year to make my working life easier, and Winchester, as a popular and well-connected city, really stood out for me. I didn’t know the area very well, so I wanted to stick to the little bit of knowledge I did have, and decided that Knights Quarter would be the right place for me. My apartment was the only property I looked at, and I loved it so much that I reserved a week after viewing it!”

“The convenient location of Knights Quarter was a real draw for me. It’s only half an hour’s drive to the office in Ringwood which was the main reason for the move, but it’s also just a 10-minute walk to the station and everything in the city from where I am. Moving out of London, I was keen not to lose the convenience of living in a big city. I wanted a place where I could still get Deliveroo and I can here – there’s lots of different food options to choose from too, which is great.”

Harry purchased a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at Knights Quarter in February 2024. Speaking of the apartment, he comments: “My previous property was much older, so it’s great to be in a new build where everything is brand new and works! All of the appliances have a logical place rather than being fitted post-build, so everything is much more streamlined. We also have access to parking, a concierge and an on-site gym which are all included in the service charge. I’m trying to use the gym at least once a week – being on-site, it encourages me to go more!”

He continues: “I’ve only been here a month so far, but I’ve started to explore Winchester in my spare time. I have enjoyed walking into the city and have found a couple of nice pubs that I can take friends when they come down to visit. I’m also trying to take up golf, and have found a nice driving range on the outskirts of Winchester, under a 10 minutes’ drive from Knights Quarter. It’s so close to home that I’ve been there almost every week so far, and I’m looking forward to continuing this as the time goes on.”

Harry concludes: “I’d recommend buying a home with Berkeley to any of my friends and family looking to move. The sales team based at Knights Quarter were helpful and very responsive, which made the process smooth and slick. There was fantastic aftercare too; I was given a full handover of the property and it was a helpful benefit to know what everything does, and where every key goes. Berkeley has a fantastic service.”
