Top 5 Must-See Christmas Events in London

At Christmas, the city of London hosts a wide array of exciting festive events and things to do with friends or family. Sometimes it can be difficult choosing between them, so to help arrange your Christmas plans we have selected our favourite events to visit if you are looking to experience some real Christmas magic..

1. Winter Trails at Nine Elms
From St George's Tower to Battersea Power Station, London's Winter Trails festival hosts activities from November 18th to December 21st. For Berkeley Group residents, the festival is conveniently located near to St James Riverlight development. The festival includes artists and performers who partner with local communities to create a line-up of unique events. Here you can expect music and creative workshops for children, performances, walks, film screenings, twilight performances with skaters and dancers, a street market and performances from the Battersea Community Choir.

All of these events are mapped out in the area, including each of the different strands of the festival; sound, movement, illumination, installations, words and stories.
Why not visit the Cirque Bijou Umbrella Project on the 6th of December to marvel at the mesmerising LED umbrella display? Taking place from St George's Tower to the ROSE Community Centre. All activities are free to attend but you may need to book in advance for some events to secure a spot.

2. Christmas at Kensington Palace
From 1st December to New Year's Day, Kensington Palace is taking an educational approach to the festive season, by taking visitors back in time with a Victorian-style Christmas. The palace is providing an insight into many 19th-century themed activities such as Victorian toys, story-telling, traditional festive food and decorations. Kensington Palace also displays a Christmas tree decorated to imitate a Victorian tree, and visitors can also explore the rest of the palace as normal.

There are many fun workshops to visit here too, including sessions on making your own Victorian Christmas decorations to take home, storytelling for under 7's and puppet theatre-making. The events take place less than a mile from our Kensington Row development. Children and members go for free but other visitors will need to pay upon booking.
