Days Out in London
After spending so long at home with few options for getting out and about, it's always great to have the prospect of a long weekend or even just a random day off work to do something different. With London opening up, the weather is finally starting to improve, the world truly is your Oyster card, so here are some suggestions for great days out spent living in the capital.
Eat Out, But Inside
After a few weeks of gamely shivering through pub grub in the drizzle, we're still enjoying the novelty of being able to enjoy eating out inside our favourite restaurants. London is full of amazing options from Michelin-starred eateries to world cuisine and good old fashioned English meals and these venues all need our business after a tough start to the year. So why not treat yourselves to some fine dining this Summer?
Enjoy some culture
London's art galleries and museums have been closed for most of the year so far but opened up again with some incredible exhibitions to tempt us back. From the Tate Modern's Rodin exhibit to Emperor Nero at the British Museum and a whole host of fascinating displays at the independent galleries all across the city, there's something for everyone, so why not treat your brain to something wholesome after all that Netflix?
See the sights
Even if you own property in London, that doesn't mean that you've necessarily seen everything there is to see here. After all, there's a lot to see, while the sights closer to home are often the ones that we take for granted. So why not have a think about what London icons are still on your bucket list and take a weekend to tick some of them off before the crowds really return to the capital and the queues get longer again?
Keep the kids happy
London has lots for families to enjoy from the new Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace to shows like Knight School: The Show at the Tower of London or The Very Hungry Caterpillar at London Zoo.
Go to the cinema, indoors or outdoors
Cinemas are amongst the things we've missed during lockdown and they finally opened again. If you're not quite ready to go and sit in a dark room full of strangers yet, fear not because outdoor cinema season is also here at last. At Hideaway Cinema's various locations you can even see recent big screen non-releases like Wonder Woman 1984, if you've had enough of Dirty Dancing and The Greatest Showman.
