Life Where the River Flows

Reading Riverworks is an exciting new community of over two hundred 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments at the heart of Reading. Located in a prime riverside position on the site of the former power station, the development takes inspiration from its industrial past to deliver a new, reimagined neighbourhood of welcoming homes, carefully crafted for modern living.

This landmark waterfront development sits on the bank of the River Thames, connecting the river to the station and the thriving town centre and providing residents with easy access to the waterside walkway and Christchurch Meadows across the river.

What's Happening in Reading

Ongoing Investment in Reading

There is major investment in leisure facilities in Reading, with a brand-new Hollywood Bowl recently opened in The Oracle, axe throwing and shuffleboard at Boom Battle Bar and a brand new public library and studio theatre under construction.

The new Shinfield Film Studios is attracting a cohort of creatives to relocate to the town on the back of the major film and TV productions that are being made across the 18 stages – from The Acolyte to Last One Laughing.

Reading’s train station now opens out into One Station Hill, a spectacular £800 million office, housing and retail development which opened in 2025. Designer coffee shop Notes have opened their first outlet outside London, as have local micro-brewery Siren. They are being joined by Japanese restaurant Kawaii and a slew of local indie food businesses later this year. [1] [2]

Celebrating The Kennet & Avon Canal

Back again for its 36th year, Water Fest celebrated and showed off the Kennet and Avon Canal in all its glory, as well as the many historic spots that can be found along the towpath. Organised by Reading Borough Council in partnership with the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust, this year's event took place within the Forbury Gardens, Abbey Ruins and along the River Kennet, including at Huntley Wharf, and celebrated the Abbey’s rich 900-year history and its environmental and heritage connections with Reading’s waterways.
