We caught up with Tammy, a resident at Clarendon, who decided to step onto the property ladder after renting for two years in Kensington, West London. Having started her search around a year ago, she ended up securing a one-bedroom apartment at Clarendon - our major regeneration scheme in Hornsey.
Tammy says: "When I first visited Clarendon, I was instantly impressed. I absolutely loved the design, layout and high quality finish of my apartment and when I heard about the future plans of the site, I knew I could see myself living here - the idea of living in a new neighbourhood where everything I could ever need is on my doorstep was really appealing."
While the convenience of life at Clarendon was a big draw, being one of the first buyers to move in meant Tammy experienced first-hand the benefits of buying at this major regeneration scheme.
Tammy adds: "Living at Clarendon, I get the best of both worlds. I'm just an eight-minute walk away from Wood Green Tube station - meaning I can reach London with speed and ease - and Hornsey high street is just moments away, yet the development itself has a real village-feel. I'm really excited to get to know my neighbours!"
After researching the benefits of buying new, including using Help to Buy, Tammy narrowed down her search to only look at new builds.
Tammy says: "I'd always really liked the idea of living in a new property - not only did it mean I could enjoy living in my new home from the moment I moved in but the Help to Buy scheme enabled me to maximise my budget."
In the midst of the pandemic and national lockdown, Tammy moved into her new home in February 2021.
She continues: "Moving into my new home during the pandemic made me appreciate my new home so much more. The generous living areas provide plenty of space to relax and work and I'm also surrounded by green open spaces - meaning I'm never out of options for new walking routes.
"I love everything about my new home at Clarendon and I still can't believe it is my own."
