Brief Description:
Working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment, you will support the procurement team to procure plant and materials achieving best value, budget and specification compliance maintaining good relationships with suppliers.

Overview of the Role:
- Working with management to develop procurement documents
- Preparing selected tender list for approval
- Assisting with material tendering
- Holding and taking minutes of supplier and Pre-Order Meetings
- Support and contribution supplier recommendations for management sign off
- Approving supplier invoices
- Ensuring all procurement systems and databases are managed, maintained and information cleansed for accurate reporting
- Attending project Team Meetings
- Attending supplier progress meetings
- Collating relevant management information to report to the wider procurement team and in preparation for internal/external audits
- Support and contribution to resourcing new product and material suppliers, building relationships and partnerships for the benefit of quality of product and in pursuit of customer excellence
- Working with internal and external clients/stakeholders to facilitate a wide range of procurement processes.
- Being responsive to customer enquiries and support contract and supplier management activity across a range of commercial areas.
- Always look for new ways, new systems that will make the Buying department more efficient.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To undertake an agreed programme of learning that leads to gaining a recognised qualification as part of an apprenticeship framework/standard.
- To actively participate in own development plan under the supervision of your line manager, sub-contractor management team and the College assessor
- To work under supervision to learn your role. Specifics for each apprenticeship role can be found at the end of the job description.
- To work safely and competently in a site and office based environment and to always adhere to Group Health and Safety Standards.
- To undertake and take part in other duties, meetings, , supervision, training and events as requested by your manager that aids learning and development for your role.
