Brief Description:
The technical department takes over the management of the design of a scheme once planning consent has been granted. Our technical team do not work as architects as these are typically appointed externally - instead they appoint the consultant design team and manage the detailed design process. Coordination and work flow of all technical information on a live project throughout the development cycle from design, planning, delivery and through to completion.

Please note that people working within the technical team are not working as architects; the technical team manages the design process, which usually includes the appointment of third party architects.
The technical department liaises closely with the land, commercial and construction departments to ensure a seamless transition from design through procurement and construction.
They will also manage the external processes associated with:
- Discharge of planning conditions
- Obtaining statutory consents
- Party wall awards
- Site surveys and investigations
- Supporting the construction, sales and customer services teams through the provision of technical information
The Technical Co-ordinator Assistant Apprentice will:
- Supporting senior members including the Technical/Design Managers and Director with land appraisals and the development of future sites.
- The Coordination of internal and external consultants in producing technical details and drawings required for the delivery of schemes from design, planning and through to completion.
- Assisting in implementing departmental and company objectives and procedures.
- Assist in the value engineering elements, questioning drawings and making changes where relevant to assist in the smoothness of build on site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To undertake an agreed programme of learning that leads to gaining a recognised qualification as part of an apprenticeship framework/standard.
- To actively participate in own development plan under the supervision of your line manager, sub-contractor management team and the College assessor
- To work under supervision to learn your role. Specifics for each apprenticeship role can be found at the end of the job description.
- To work safely and competently in a site based environment and to always adhere to Group Health and Safety Standards.
- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is used at the appropriate time for each task being undertaken.
- To undertake and take part in other duties, meetings, toolbox talks, supervision, training and events as requested by your manager that aids learning and development for your role.
- To demonstrate compassion and consideration for others, forming mutual trust and professional respect.
