Organised by the Grand Union Development Trust, with support from St George, a proud member of the Berkeley Group, the event welcomed around 400 attendees from across London for an afternoon of fun, flavour, and fanfare and we would like to thank all of those who joined us for this special day!
Canalside Fun for All
From paddleboarding and canoeing on the Grand Union Canal to cookie decorating, face painting, and henna art, there really was something for everyone.
Inside, the Grand Union Community Hub buzzed with different stalls offering workshops, handmade crafts, and support from Brent Health who were offering some great mental and physical wellbeing tips, whilst outside local volunteering group including Friends of the Grand Union Canal and the Canal & River Trust hosted games and activities along the canal.
Live Music, Local Flavours & Retail Pop-ups
We were delighted to be joined by Scott McManhon and Phil Lagos who brought the perfect soundtrack for the afternoon as festivalgoers sipped on delicious cocktails and mocktails from Crepes+Coffee served via our narrowboat PAVO and enjoyed artisan pizzas from The Pantry, our community café run by London’s Community Kitchen and local college students.
It was great to have local retailers join in, including on-site retailers, Ace Café, Cypresa and some fantastic local dance groups – bringing energy and excitement to the day.
We were also pleased to be joined by the teams from Anytime Fitness and Hiyacar, who were able to share more information about their offerings here at Grand Union.
A Glimpse Into the Future of Grand Union
Brent Council were also on hand to update us on their latest plans for a new pedestrian and cycle bridge, and residents and locals also had a chance to share their thoughts and ideas on the next phase of the Grand Union masterplan - an opportunity for locals to have a real say in what comes next.
With over 3,000 homes, of which 35% are affordable, and 14 acres of green spaces and amenities, we are creating an exciting neighbourhood at Grand Union with a dynamic mix of local amenities to ensure residents and visitors have everything they need to live well right on their doorstep.
This includes an Anytime Fitness gym, Peapods nursery, Full of Beans soft play and café, Benham & Reeves estate agents and a convenient Co-op store.
Once complete, Grand Union will have an additional 11 acres of open space playing host to cafés and restaurants, a NHS medical centre, an amphitheatre, landscaped gardens, wildlife meadows and new pathways, creating a truly unique waterside destination.
Perfectly positioned just one stop from Wembley Central on the Lioness Line via nearby Stonebridge Park station, and only seven stops from London Euston, the canalside community is ideally placed for modern living when it comes to connectivity and convenience.
