Once an industrial and warehousing site, Riverlight now provides 812 mixed tenure homes and a fantastic new stretch of London's South Bank.
Creating an attractive and welcoming environment was central to the masterplan, with 70% of the site given over to open space, including landscaped gardens, a pocket park, a public piazza and a riverside walk.
A new riverside pub, The Nine Elms Tavern, draws people in from across Nine Elms and Riverlight's cultural development strategy has seen the Royal College of Art open a unique studio and exhibition space on the site. This has been a focal point for the local community and added to the area's emerging arts scene. Riverlight also includes a crèche, shop, two restaurants, a café and an innovative series of fun and quirky artworks which double as children's play spaces and seating.
