Today the Berkeley group is announcing it is re-launching its highly successful graduate programme in order to combat the skills shortage in the construction industry.
With the latest figures showing 15% unemployment among young people and a growing shortage of skilled workers, Berkeley is offering hugely rewarding opportunities for graduates to join its new training scheme.
According to the London Chamber of Commerce, the construction industry needs 50,738 construction managers and 16,178 surveyors just to fulfil pipeline projects alone. Berkeley is investing heavily in the next generation of construction professionals to ensure the growth and sustainability of this sector.
Rob Perrins, Managing Director of the Berkeley Group said, "Skills shortages in the construction industry is one of the biggest issues facing the sector, meanwhile talented young people are unable to get on the career ladder.
This is why we are relaunching the Berkeley graduate programme to give young people the opportunity to earn, learn and succeed. By investing in talented young people we are ensuring the future of the construction industry."
