A Move to the Country: The Best Thing We Ever Did
Country Living
Bhavesh Patel grew up in the countryside and was desperate for his daughters Tanisha, 10, and Ava, 8, to enjoy the same lifestyle he had experienced. He found and fell in love with Hartland Village, St Edward’s thriving semi-rural community surrounded by woodland near popular Fleet in Hampshire.
Ruchi says: "When I visited Hartland Village for the first time and saw how close our new home is to the adjoining country park, the cleaner air and quality of life had swayed my opinion. The best thing we’ve ever done is embrace countryside living!”
Hartland Village Community
The Patels bought a semi-detached, four-bedroom, three-bathroom house for the family at £740,000 and moved in late 2023. They funded the purchase using the proceeds from the sale of their flat, with a 15% deposit of £111,000.
Bhavesh explains: “It is lovely seeing our daughters play outside on the streets with other children from the community, it’s very nostalgic for me. At Hartland Village, the pace of life is much more relaxed, no one is rushing around. People stop, smile, and say hello.”
A newly-built home appealed to the family for a number of reasons. They wanted a property that enabled them to move straight in and start living and were pleased with how energy efficient the house has been, cutting their monthly household costs.
A New Life in Hampshire
Hartland Village comprises a collection of new houses and apartments, intertwined with open spaces, a magnificent 70-acre Country Park and, in a forthcoming phase, a new two-form primary school and Village Centre. The distinctive hump-back bridge over the new lake at the entrance signifies the arrival to the village and evokes a sense of belonging, while the abundance of green space brings people together in an outdoor setting, promoting active lifestyles and mental wellbeing.
Hartland Village is located a nine-minute drive away from Fleet and Farnborough stations, with services to London Waterloo from 41 minutes and 36 minutes respectively.
