We recently hosted an exclusive evening at Wandsworth Mills with Tatler’s esteemed Education Editor, Tori Cadogan and South West London’s leading headteachers: Rupert Hawkins of Thomas’s Battersea and Michael Hodge of Broomwood Schools, both of which are close to our development.
Speaking to a packed audience, the panel provided valuable insights into how to give your child the best educational start in life. The conversation covered admissions and exams, the values of each school, extra-curricular activities and field trips as well as how each school supports the local community through a number of initiatives. We also heard from Dr Ma who runs popular WeChat platform ‘Raising Kids in the UK’, who gave firsthand insights of her experience raising children in London having come from overseas.
Tori Cadogan, Tatler’s Education Editor, commented: "It really was the most fabulous evening. Wandsworth offers an exceptional educational landscape, with great schools on the doorstep that emphasize both academic excellence and holistic development, ensuring that children are not only well-educated but also happy and well-rounded."
Wandsworth is renowned as a place to learn and flourish, ranking among the top 10 boroughs for several primary schools rated Outstanding by Ofsted. There are numerous leading independent primary and secondary schools nearby, including Thomas's Battersea and Broomwood, as well as easy access to private/boarding schools including Harrow and Eton College and leading universities such as the University of Roehampton and Kingston University.
Wandsworth Mills will provide a collection of 375 beautiful new homes of exceptional quality, an expansive club-style resident retreat and beautifully restored Grade II listed buildings. This is set amongst landscaped open spaces, including sunken gardens, roof terrace, pedestrian bridges and bankside walks, with 210 metres of new riverside frontage, creating an urban oasis of calm; a place truly designed for living well.
Within two miles of the development, residents have access to over 1,700 acres of green space, yet they will enjoy a swift journey to central London in less than 15 minutes from Wandsworth Town Station. With many excellent education, retail and leisure opportunities on the doorstep, Wandsworth is a stand-out destination for young professionals, downsizers and families alike.
