Game, Set, Match at the Green Quarter

If Wimbledon has inspired you to pick up a racquet, but you’re looking to try something new, padel might just be the sport for you.

Over the last year, the UK has seen a trebling of padel players with 400,000 people taking to the courts to try the sport which originated in Mexico in the 1960s. It is only set to grow in popularity as a further 8 million Brits expressed a desire to try it, according to the Lawn Tennis Association.

It is no surprise, then, that new, public outdoor courts are proving popular across the Capital. DOSE, a lifestyle site covering topics that resonate with Londoners, has unveiled a helpful map of London’s padel courts this year, highlighting the most affordable and accessible.

Among them is The Green Quarter’s very own Game4Padel Parkside Padel Club in Southall, named one of the cheapest places to play in London, with courts available from just £24 a session.

From beginners to seasoned players, the inclusive club welcomes all skill levels and offers private and group lessons, including a free Introduction to Padel session for newcomers. Rackets are provided, and to ensure play all year round, whatever the weather, the courts are covered with canopies.

Serving up summertime essentials

Located next to Parkside Padel is Parkside Yards, Ealing’s cultural and creative community hub comprising a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, restaurants and independent businesses.

You can grab a cheesy margherita or pepperoni pizza from Pinsafresco Pizzeria or a post play pint and delicious curry from the Brilliant Gastro by celebrity chef Dipna Anand.

Across this vibrant neighbourhood, you’ll also find over 13 acres of parkland and 1km of canal frontage, including a central park with tranquil waterways, a community amphitheatre, and children's play areas.

The Green Quarter is also home to a pioneering tree nursery featuring over 600 native air-potted trees, a woodland nature trail and play area for children. Once matured, the trees will be planted around the local neighbourhood.

How to get to Parkside Padel Club

With the Elizabeth Line providing direct connections from Southall into London’s West End and the City, Parkside Padel Club not only provides one of London’s most affordable padel clubs but also one that is highly accessible, no matter where you are situated in London. You can reach The Green Quarter from Bond Street in just 22 minutes and the City in 27 minutes.
