Live at the Heart of London's Borough of Innovation at Camden Goods Yard
Camden: A thriving hub for AI and Tech Innovation
The borough has been referred to as the ‘new Palo Alto’ – a principal city of Silicon Valley – by Saul Kein, a member of the Council for Science and Technology and Founder of LocalGlobe, a venture capital fund which has invested in businesses such as Zoopla and Citymapper. He also said it is ‘one of the best places in the world to start a business’.
Substantiating this claim, Camden proudly reigns supreme as London’s ‘most AI-ready borough’ according to a study by the SAS AI Cities Index for 2024. The accolade was granted in recognition of the substantial investment in the area from InnovateUK which awarded £84 million to groundbreaking organisations within the neighbourhood – the highest amount awarded to any borough.
Supporting Entrepreneurs and Innovation
Within the research, Glyn Townsend, Senior Director of Education Services at SAS, noted that borough councils play a significant role in supporting local talent, particularly in fast-evolving fields like AI. Testament to this, in 2024 Camden Council welcomed its London AI Campus – a forward-thinking school created in collaboration with Google and aimed at bridging the gap between young people and jobs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The school joins a growing number of first-rate institutions in Camden including the American School, Primrose Hill School, the Camden School for Girls and Richard Cobden Primary School; all of which have earned the prestigious Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rating.
Camden’s Connectivity & Lifestyle
To further support in person collaboration, the borough offers excellent links across the city. Nearby tube stations include Chalk Farm, Camden Town and Camden Road while, for international trips, King’s Cross St Pancras ensures easy access to major hubs including Amsterdam and Paris via the Eurostar.
Nestled in the heart of the buzzing neighbourhood, Camden Goods Yard is a distinctive mixed-use development that, despite its central London location, features 40% green space. Its striking architecture and thoughtfully designed landscaping come together to create a peaceful haven amidst Camden’s hustle and bustle.
Beyond the homes, residents will be able to enjoy a stylish lounge, a state-of-the-art wellness suite with a gym and pool, a cinema room and workspaces. A new rooftop restaurant, flagship Morrisons, modern offices and boutique retail space will complete the site.
