More than 250 residents and neighbours came together at TwelveTrees Park on Saturday 15 August for the neighbourhood's second annual street party, celebrating the growing sense of community at one of Newham's most significant regeneration projects.
Held from midday to 4pm, the event brought together residents, local organisations and community leaders for an afternoon of entertainment, wellbeing activities and family fun, creating opportunities for neighbours to connect, meet new people and strengthen local relationships.
A wide range of activities were delivered in partnership with local organisations. Children's activities were provided by Berkeley's long-standing charity partner Ambition Aspire Achieve (AAA), while Berkeley-sponsored team ProStar Youth hosted football skills sessions for young residents. The programme also included jewellery making, wellbeing sessions and family entertainment throughout the afternoon.
The event showcased local talent from across Newham. Iroko Theatre Company delivered African drumming performances and workshops, while local businesses Earth & Fire Ceramics and LuckyVS Creations hosted craft stalls. The celebrations concluded with a talent show hosted by local music venue Arch1, featuring performers from across the borough.
Joining residents for the celebrations were a number of local leaders and stakeholders, including Forhad Hussain, Mayor of Newham; James Asser MP, Member of Parliament for West Ham and Beckton; Councillor Aleya Hussain; representatives from the Greater London Authority; and members of the Berkeley team delivering TwelveTrees Park.
James Asser MP said: "It was great to join the TwelveTrees Park Summer Street Party again this year. Days like this are a wonderful way for residents to meet their neighbours and to build community, especially in a new housing development with new residents moving in."

The annual street party reflects Berkeley's commitment to creating a thriving neighbourhood at TwelveTrees Park, alongside delivering much-needed homes, new public spaces and community infrastructure.
Once complete, TwelveTrees Park will provide more than 4,700 mixed-tenure homes, including 1,650 affordable homes, with a strong focus on social rented family housing for local residents.
The wider masterplan will also deliver a new entrance to West Ham Station, a 1,000-pupil secondary school, two pedestrian bridges and a 12-acre Wi-Fi-enabled park, alongside new community, commercial and retail spaces. The development is expected to create more than 8,000 construction jobs and over 500 permanent jobs.
Through its Section 106 agreement and Community Infrastructure Levy contributions, the project will also provide £67 million towards local infrastructure and services across Newham.
