The free sports programme is designed to engage and inspire young people between 8 and 18, helping them to reach their full potential.
The sessions are being delivered at Berkeley’s Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) in the award-winning Cator Park.
PL Kicks offers football training, mentoring and personal development opportunities, targeted at those at risk of youth violence or anti-social behaviour, and/or are from high-need areas.
Berkeley joined CACT at The Valley ground in October for a pre-match presentation for Kicks participants. Residents from Kidbrooke Village, charity partners and Berkeley staff enjoyed free tickets to the game, where they cheered on the home team.
CACT Diversionary & Mentoring Manager, Anthony Quarm said: “The partnership between CACT and Berkeley will provide young individuals with continued access to high-quality local venues and resources that might otherwise be inaccessible.
“Together we’re enabling consistent sports provision, outreach, and mentoring programs while reducing barriers to participation for young people. This means, we can enhance our impact, continue promoting healthier lifestyles, and support social cohesion and community well-being.”
Paul Prichard, Development Director at Berkeley Capital said: “PL Kicks is such a valuable programme for young people, and we’re really pleased that Kidbrooke Village’s sport facilities are being used for such a great cause.
“We look forward to hearing more about the impact this inspirational programme has on everyone involved over the coming months.”
Designed in partnership with London Wildlife Trust and HTA, Cator Park has been awarded the prestigious 'Sir David Attenborough Award for Enhancing Biodiversity' and the 'Overall President's Award' at the Landscape Institute Awards. To date, the rewilding of Cator Park North has already achieved a 100% Biodiversity Net Gain on site.
The sessions, funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund, run every Monday from 5-7pm. Find out more and book here.
