Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair returned to Royal Arsenal Riverside for the ninth consecutive year in November.
Berkeley is a proud sponsor of the leading international art fair for original contemporary print, which aims to make art accessible to all audiences.
The fair took place over four days at Woolwich Works, a multi-disciplinary creative events space, which is housed within one of the 23 Grade II Listed buildings that Berkeley has carefully restored at the site. Berkeley’s Chairman Karl Whiteman became a Trustee of the venue earlier this year.
Berkeley Group also sponsored the Young London Print Prize, with winners first revealed on the Piccadilly Lights and awards then handed out in a ceremony during the print fair.
Pema, aged 10 from Foxfield Primary School in Woolwich, scooped first prize for her work ‘Fading Hope’, a wonderful layered block print.

Matt Bell, Chair of the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair said “Our 9th edition of the Fair has been our best yet and we are grateful to all of our partners for their support. We are very lucky to have the Royal Arsenal Riverside Creative Hub on our doorstep and I look forward to planning for next year as well as supporting all of the events taking place at the Hub. The awarding of the Young London Print Prize was particularly special, as we highlight the amazing talent we have locally in our young people.”
Berkeley Capital Development Director Paul Prichard, who helped to hand out awards for the Young London Print Prize, said “We are very proud to sponsor this fantastic competition which gives young Londoners invaluable opportunities to explore their artistic creativity and express their views on the climate emergency. The quality and depth of this year’s collection is simply breathtaking and will make a fascinating contribution to the Woolwich Print Fair.”
Royal Arsenal Riverside boasts a vibrant creative district, with internationally acclaimed immersive theatre production company Punchdrunk, and Acosta Dance, also on site. Woolwich Works was recently named ‘best new culture spot’ by Time Out and runs a full calendar of multi-disciplinary events throughout the year, including many community programmes sponsored by Berkeley.
