Family Finds Forever Home at Hollyfields With Berkeley
With two children approaching senior school age, Ruslan and Ekaterina Danilevich needed a new family home that offered them both space for their growing family and good senior school education on their doorstep. The Danilevich's found the perfect fit at Hollyfields at Hawkenbury in Tunbridge Wells, which boasts beautiful landscaping, fast commuter connections into London and proximity to some of the best senior schools in the country.
Having rented for five years in various locations around the UK, Ruslan and Ekatrina knew that they wanted to put down their roots in a town that had a good community spirit with a lot going on. Hollyfields, with its Tunbridge Wells location was instantly attractive to the family. "We were already familiar with the south of England and fell in love with Tunbridge Wells when we visited," says Ruslan, "It's the perfect size, it's a beautiful town and has fantastic amenities, as well as being an easy commute for my wife and I." Both Ruslan and Ekaterina commute daily and the connection from Tunbridge Wells to London Bridge in 42 minutes made the area a perfect choice for the family.
The Tunbridge Wells location was secured for the couple by the presence of the Berkeley development Hollyfields. "Having rented in another Berkeley property in London, we knew we wanted to buy one of their homes. The quality is extremely high, and the customer service is fantastic." Using Help to Buy, the family purchased a 3-bedroom property at Hollyfields, which provides space for the whole family.
All homes at Hollyfields feature spacious living areas with double doors leading on to private gardens or patio areas, providing additional outdoor space for residents to enjoy. Hollyfields has been designed to encourage sustainability and be as environmentally friendly as possible. Homes have been planned to the highest sustainability standards to minimise energy use, and the street plan has been laid out to prioritise pedestrians and cyclists. Landscaping at Hollyfields keeps important hedgerows across the site which house dormice and badgers, while the creation of three new ponds and wild planted areas across the scheme encourages biodiversity and a flourishing habitat for wildlife.
The Hollyfields development will also include the site of a brand-new school building for St Peter's Church of England Primary School*. The school is known for its 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating and will be relocating to Hollyfields, where it will be sympathetically integrated into the development. For the Danilevich's two children there is also a selection of fantastic senior schools within a short distance of the scheme including: The Skinner's School, Beechwood Sacred Heart, Tonbridge School and the Tunbridge Wells Grammar Schools for both girls and boys.
Overall, the family are thrilled with their new home, "we love the feel of the development," Ruslan summaries, "everyone is so friendly. We've had visits from our neighbours, and even the local vicar came to welcome us into the community. Moving in couldn't have been easier. We have been extremely impressed with the service we received from Berkeley. We look forward to living here for many years to come."
