The scheme starts with a two week induction giving graduates a good understanding of the Berkeley Group. You will be exposed to the different Divisions and departments allowing you to network with staff from all areas of the business. Scheme participants will visit a number of Berkeley developments, to understand the magnitude of the developments we build.
The Berkeley Group is committed to training and developing their people. Structured programmes are in place to enable staff to become accredited to relevant and recognised industry bodies, including RICS and CIOB.
You will be invited to attend a number of training events over the two years and will work on group projects as set by Directors.
Mentors and Buddies
Graduates are vital to the success of the business and you will be provided with a mentor from the business to support you throughout your career. In addition to your mentor you will be matched with a buddy from previous graduate intakes to help you settle in.
1. Apply online
Complete the online application form. Applications for our Land and Planning department close on Friday 30 November 2018, with applications for all other departments closing on Friday 25 January 2019.
We recommend that you prepare your responses in advance in a word processing programme in order to check spelling and word counts. We receive many applications for the scheme and the overall quality is very high.
We recommend that you research the Berkeley Group and our developments. The most successful candidates put time into answering the questions on the application form and demonstrate a genuine interest in the company.

2. If successful attend an assessment centre
You will be invited to attend a half day assessment centre at one of our offices.
The initial assessment centre will be looking at candidate's values, beliefs, outlook and behaviour to ensure they fit within Berkeley's culture.
You will undertake a number of tasks both in groups and individually to demonstrate your skills.
3. If successful attend a final interview and assessment centre
I'll be invited to attend a final half day assessment centre at one of our offices.
These assessment centres will be attended by the directors from the divisions, they will include individual and group tasks along with a panel interview and pre-prepared presentation to our Directors.
Your technical competencies and soft skills will be assessed at this stage.
4. If successful you will receive a job offer within 48 hours
Successful applicants will receive a job offer within 48 hours of attending their final interview and assessment centre.
5. Successful Graduates begin work
Graduates will join us in autumn 2019. You must be able to start in a full time capacity by this time so please do not apply this year if you will not have completed your studies by that time or are planning on taking a gap year.
Graduate Scheme FAQs
We look for graduates that have skills and experience that are relevant to the departments that you wish to apply for. A relevant degree puts you in a strong position but is not essential. If you do not have a relevant degree, we would expect you to demonstrate through your CV and application that you have picked up knowledge and skills that you could apply to the role. For instance, you may have relevant work experience, or completed useful courses in addition to your degree. Certain departments are less reliant on a property-related degree, however we would expect applicants for these roles to be able to demonstrate some knowledge and passion for the property industry.
You are able to submit multiple applications to apply to more than one department if you feel that your qualifications and experience are relevant to more than one area of the business. However, we would recommend that you carefully research the area you are interested in and select the department you feel is most suitable for you.

No, anyone can apply for the Berkeley Graduate Scheme as long as they meet the minimum academic requirements. To be considered for a graduate role, candidates will typically have graduated within the past two years. If you have more experience than this you may wish to consider applying to specific experienced posts as advertised directly by our individual divisions.

Successful applicants will be invited to the first stage assessment centre. You will undertake a number of tasks both in groups and individually to demonstrate your skills.
Final stage interviews will consist of an assessment centre and final face to face interview, December 2017-March 2018.Offers will be made to join the Berkeley Graduate Scheme, and the programme will start in September 2018 with a two week induction.

We will provide support to graduates who want to work towards their professional qualifications, if it supports your job role. Graduates will not start the process until they have completed their six month rotation
On completion of your rotations you will be placed in the cut and thrust of one of Berkeley's divisions, where straight away you will get the chance to work on one or more of our projects. As time progresses and you start to prove yourself, you will be given increasing levels of responsibility.
Your career progression at the Berkeley Group depends upon you and your career plans. Impressing with the work that you do and being able to demonstrate that you are an asset to the business will stand you in good stead.
To give you an idea of what you can achieve in a relatively short space of time, one graduate that we recruited in 2006 is now a managing director and several more that we have recruited since then are now in director and management positions.
