As Swifties descended on Wembley Stadium this June, another party was taking place in celebration of the Queen of Pop at Grand Union in Wembley.
Residents, locals and visitors were seen ‘shaking it off’ in the sun with a sing-a-long Taylor Swift tribute, organised by the team behind the new 22-acre mixed-use development.
Tribute act Miss America took to the stage canal-side, singing all of the classics from Miss Americana to Love Story.
Taylor Swift-inspired crepes with Nutella, strawberries and cream were on the menu at Crepes+Coffee, a coffee spot situated in the heart of the canalside piazza on the development’s very own narrowboat called PAVO.
Free crepes were given to the first 50 guests. Others tucked into their own delicious picnics in ‘style’ whilst listening to the tunes from their deck chairs.

It is being delivered by St George, a proud member of the Berkeley Group, and is already home to a mix of one, two and three bedroom homes, as well as a canalside piazza, Community Hub, Anytime Fitness gym, Benham & Reeves estate agents, two-lane bowling alley, entertainment room, residents’ lounge, Crepes+Coffee café and a brand-new Co-op. Peapods nursery will also be opening later this year.
Once complete, Grand Union will also have 11 acres of open space playing host to cafés and restaurants, an NHS medical centre, an amphitheatre, landscaped gardens, wildlife meadows, and pathways, creating a unique waterside destination.
Grand Union is located on Beresford Avenue in Alperton. It is accessible by public transport via Stonebridge Park and Alperton stations, which offer direct links from central London via the overground & Bakerloo line, and Piccadilly line, respectively.
Exploring Nearby Wembley Park
Grand Union is just a 13-minute drive or a 30 to 35 minute walk away from Wembley Stadium, which is perfect for those who have Taylor Swift tickets for her next big appearance in August.
There are also plenty of other parts of Wembley Park to explore. From its great selection of eateries, including world street food from BOXPARK Wembley, the famous bakery Bread Ahead, and authentic Italian trattoria Pasta Remoli, to its free Art Trails showcasing everything from digital installations to colourful street art.
It is also perfect for a spot of retail therapy. The London Designer Outlet is home to the UK’s biggest brands whilst those looking for something unique and handcrafted might want to browse the Wembley Park Markets taking place in Market Square.
