A location steeped in history

There are at least four places of historical interest under a mile from the development. Across the River Thames (via the ferry) lies 17th century Ham House with its relatively unchanged formal gardens. York House, again dating back to the 17th century, is 0.5 miles away with its gardens and carefully preserved fountain and marble statues. Orleans House Gallery stands on the site of the former Orleans House. Built in 1710, the house was pulled down in the 1920's, however the Octagon Room still stands within woodland gardens and holds a collection of 18th & 19th century pictures. Strawberry Hill House and gardens offers a truly theatrical experience with its Georgian Gothic revival architecture.

The Regeneration of Twickenham

The regeneration of the former Royal Mail Sorting Office in Twickenham will produce a vibrant community with 110 residential homes, community building and public piazza.  But this is not the only thing that is planned for Twickenham.  It is part of a wider regeneration plan which will see millions of pounds ploughed into the area over the next 14 years.  Environmental improvements are being undertaken all over the borough as well as plans having been approved for the regeneration of Twickenham Station, bringing about improvement to make the station fit for the 21st century.
  • Transformed
Pedestrians and cyclists will have new riverside pathways and improved access from Brewery Gate to Twickenham Station.
  • Community
A new facility for the community with parking and outdoor space offering live performance, theatre, film screenings, community events and classes.
  • Attractive
Creation of a public piazza, opening up views to Heatham House and providing an attractive gathering point.
  • Landscaping
Associated infrastructure and utilities will be created along with beautifully landscaped areas that can be accessed by the public.
