10 Years of Community Impact at The Green Quarter

At The Green Quarter in Southall, Berkeley is transforming an 88-acre former gasworks site into a nature-rich, community-led neighbourhood that sits moments away from Southall Station, with direct connectivity via the Elizabeth Line, placing Central London within easy reach.

As one of the UK’s largest and most ambitious regeneration projects, we are delivering much needed modern homes and infrastructure while providing the catalyst for wider local rejuvenation and economic growth.

2026 marks ten years since the masterplan for The Green Quarter was approved and work began to launch one of the UK’s largest and most ambitious regeneration projects. Working with neighbours, stakeholders, residents and the local people of Southall, we have ensured that the evolution of the site has both been shaped by - and designed for - the local community, in a placemaking transformation that is still unfolding today.

Community Engagement Sits at the Heart of Everything We Do

Now in its third year, our latest community impact report celebrates the dedication and achievements of our team and partners in fostering a welcoming and inclusive neighbourhood, and reflects our ongoing commitment to making a meaningful, positive difference year after year.

Our community plan is built around three core priorities: Creating Opportunities, Improving Sense of Belonging and Safety, and Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle.

Key Milestones and Achievements

This year has been our most active yet for community engagement and social impact.

The Green Quarter hosted 57 events across our 2025/26 financial year, reaching more than 5,166 people by organising careers fairs, insight days, work experience placements and visits from local schools such as West London College.

We also launched our £25,000 Community Chest Fund, which will support projects that align with the fund's priority areas such as helping to deliver skills, training and employment opportunities to those living and working in Southall. The fund provides direct, practical support to local community organisations, social enterprises and charities that are already delivering positive impact across the local area.

This initiative builds on our strong track record of funding local projects that matter: since 2024, the team has contributed over 206 volunteering hours and raised more than £179,000 for Mencap, a charity based in Ealing which offers support, advice and opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

Setting the Standard for Creating Greener Spaces

This year, we were recognised at the West London Business Awards and the West London Chamber of Commerce not only for our social impact but also our green business initiatives.

Opening up access to nature for those living and visiting The Green Quarter has always been a critical part of our vision for the site, and sits hand in hand with creating sustainable communities that promote healthy ways of living. With 13 acres of green space, 9 acres of reclaimed wetland, a tree nursery and 1km of canal frontage residents at The Green Quarter have up to 32 times more green space on their doorstep than those living in some of London’s most green-starved neighbourhoods, encouraging a slower pace of life and creating the space to unwind.

Nobody captures the spirit of what we are building at The Green Quarter better than our Head of Business and Community Engagement, Jags Sanghera, who said that “At The Green Quarter, we take immense pride in the place we are creating and remain deeply committed to ensuring that this is shared by everyone who lives, works and spends time here. Our ambition extends beyond delivering high-quality homes; we are focused on nurturing a thriving, inclusive neighbourhood where people feel a genuine sense of belonging and connection.”

Our active events calendar continues to keep our residents and the local community busy – why not pop down to Parkside Yards - our lively community space to see for yourself? Here you will find play spaces, a coffee shop, a pizzeria and local favourites such as the Parkside Padel Club and Brilliant Gastro, led by celebrity chef Dipna Anand.

Quarter Yards is the second neighbourhood being brought forwards at The Green Quarter, with a range of Manhattan-style studios and one, two and three-bedroom apartments currently available at Brickfields.

Residents will also soon have access to The Quarter Club, our premium wellness suite. This features  a fully equipped gym, yoga and Pilates studio, swimming pool, sauna and steam room, two cinema rooms, a virtual golf suite, dog grooming station, co-working space and a children’s playroom, alongside indoor and outdoor social spaces – including a tropical inspired wellness area and lush botanical garden – aimed at bringing our resident community together.

Alongside new homes, the neighbourhood will introduce a dynamic high street featuring 105,000 sq ft of space for shops, cafés, restaurants and flexible workspaces – helping to create a thriving new town centre for the local community.
