In 2008, Berkeley First partnered with University of Kent on a Nomination Agreement basis on the first phase of accommodation at Liberty Quays which was delivered in 2009 and included 604 student beds. The development was forward sold to Liberty Living who own and operate the accommodation on behalf of the university.
In 2011, Berkeley First partnered again with University of Kent on a Nomination Agreement basis to deliver a further 500 beds due for delivery in 2013. The second phase of the development was also sold to Liberty Living who will own and operate the entire 1,100 student beds on completion.
In addition to the benefits of the wider mixed use scheme including a Dominoes Pizza, Subway and a Tesco Express, the student accommodation development includes a student lounge, laundry, management suite and office, show apartment, cycle store and landscaped courtyards for each phase of the development.
