A new scheme aimed at giving valuable work experience to the unemployed has led to ten individuals awarded placements by leading London developer St George.
St George has provided long-term placements for the candidates at its Battersea Reach development in Wandsworth, in addition to hosting visits from Ernest Bevin College's Sixth form and construction students at South Thames College.

As part of its commitment to the local area, St George joined forces with sustainability management business Kotuku CIC and recylcing complany Powerday to form the Kotuku Environmental Labour Project (KELP), which has gone on to become on one of the UK's most successful employment schemes.
Todate, KELP has trained over 40 young unemployed Londoners for work oppurtunities in construction and waste management, with 70 per cent of those gaining full-time jobs as a result.
