Marcus of leading property developer St George South London was one of four site managers to be recognised as the region's winners at a prestigious dinner event held at the Hilton Metropole hotel in Brighton last Friday.
The NHBC Pride in the Job Awards, are the most sought after accolades in the industry dedicated to house-building site management in the UK. They reward site managers for the unique contribution they make to the house building process, delivering high quality homes and directing projects from start to finish.
Marcus won his regional award for overseeing the build of The Tower, One St George Wharf development, the tallest residential tower in Western Europe.
Neil Jefferson, Customer and Business Development Director for NHBC, the UK's leading new-home warranty provider, congratulated Marcus on his win:
"Marcus has delivered new homes of outstanding quality on this high-specification high-rise site and should be rightly proud of his achievement. This award marks him out as a top site manager for house building in the UK and I wish him the best of luck in the national final."
Along with the champions from eight other UK regions, Marcus now progresses to Pride in the Job's Supreme Gala event, being held in London in January 2013 where four UK Supreme Winners will be announced.
Marcus talked about his win:
"Winning this award is recognition of my team's hard work and attention to detail throughout all departments, to deliver the very best quality homes in this landmark building. I've enjoyed the challenge and sense of achievement that comes with delivering what is the tallest residential tower in Western Europe to date."
Marcus has an excellent track record in awards victories, having won the national title in NHBC's Health and Safety Awards in 2011 as well. He has worked in house-building for 22 years, 12 of those as a site manager. Marcus has risen through St George ranks, being shortlisted for awards twice before in 2008 and 2010.
