On Friday 20th February 2026, London Dock came alive with colour, culture and celebration for the Chinese New Year. Guests gathered at the Sales & Marketing Suite on Arrival Square to welcome the Year of the Horse in unforgettable fashion.
The afternoon brought together residents, agents and the local community for a vibrant programme of traditional performances, interactive moments and culinary delights. The event reflected London Dock’s dynamic, multicultural destination in the heart of Wapping.
Opening Ceremony and Wishing Trees Tradition
Guests were welcomed with an opening address from Lilly Dong, Head of International Sales, alongside Marcus Blake, Managing Director at St George PLC. This ended symbolically with Marcus tying the first wish onto the event’s Wishing Trees. He then invited guests to add their own hopes for the year ahead throughout the afternoon.
Traditional Dragon Dance Performances
A series of three Dragon Dance performances were held, each one filling the space with rhythm, movement and excitement. The roaming dragons weaved through the crowd to the beat of traditional music.
Adding to this, a roaming magician delighted guests with close-up tricks and surprises, ensuring there was always something happening wherever you turned.
Food, Lucky Red Envelopes and Entertainment
Guests enjoyed authentic dim sum alongside a beautifully presented dessert table, creating a social dining experience perfectly aligned with the Chinese New Year theme. Throughout the afternoon, visitors were also invited to take home traditional lucky red envelopes. Each envelope was filled with vouchers from Starry Mart, the Asian supermarket located at London Dock, spreading good fortune beyond the event and giving guests a delicious way to kick start the year ahead.
The afternoon concluded with closing thanks from Lilly Dong, before guests departed, taking with them lucky envelopes and wishes for a prosperous year ahead.
