Taking inspiration from idyllic landscapes, quaint villages and the rustic allure of countryside living, our latest three-bedroom Showhome called The Verdant is available to view at Grand Union in Alperton by booking an appointment here.
The space has been beautifully designed by interior design practice HWCD who sought to reflect Grand Union’s prime position by the water and its close proximity to both the city and the surrounding green spaces throughout the interior of this home.
Setting the Scene
To set the tone of the home, a base-palette of warm, earthy hues has been utilised throughout. The colours are established immediately on entering, with a mango wood console table positioned adjacent to the door and accessorised with a unique light wood Anthropologie mirror and marble and brass lamp, which brings a modern touch to the set-up.
London Living With a Twist
The hallway leads into the open plan living space which presents a harmonious blend of comfort and style.
The living area is anchored by a plush velvet sofa in burnt orange and two distinct chairs – one in a white wool-effect material and the other in a black and white geometric print – centred around a mango wood table with globe legs.
The room is finished with an extra-large wool-pile rug and oak and chestnut drinks cabinet both by Soho Home, a stool in an off-white boucle fabric and a collection of brass lightening fixtures. The overall effect is stylishly homely with rustic charm.
Hosting Family and Friends
Adjacent to the living area is an eight-seater table by Warm Nordic in walnut. A table of this size and material wouldn’t look out of place in a country manor but HWCD has styled it for city-living with chairs designed in a green weave fabric and a chic brass chandelier which basks a golden glow across the room.
A Rural Retreat Reimagined
The principle bedroom marries the serenity of the countryside with the vibrancy of city living. A four-poster bed in mango wood is central to the room and has been decorated with pops of colour throughout, including rustic light blue bedside tables, an indigo console table and green velvet footstool.
The second bedroom is more theatrical in design for guests. The bed is set against a palette of rich, earthy tones, anchored by the bespoke headboard, fringed terracotta lampshades, brass pendant light fittings and an orange footstool that bring a sense of distinct design to the room.
The third bedroom has been designed as a study to exhibit its multi-functional use, making it a great choice for those who need a flexible home that can accommodate guests and office space.
The showpiece of the room is the desk crafted from exotic mappa burl veneers, intricately pieced together to showcase its highly figured, swirling grain and striking interplay of light and dark tones. Paired with brass and dark wood soft furnishings, the furniture makes an organic yet elegant statement. Moreover, the desk can also be used as a sleek vanity in bedrooms and dressing areas, reflecting the adaptable nature of the room.
The home is complete with a main bathroom and ensuite to the principle bedroom, a large terrace looking across Grand Union canal, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows and built-in wardrobes.
Commenting on the space, Milana Mu, Director at HWCD, said: “Grand Union is located in a prime position, in close proximity to both the city and the surrounding green spaces, and we wanted to reflect that through the interiors of this three bedroom Showhome.
“The finished result is a space designed to balance the serenity of the countryside with the cosmopolitan nature of city living. We used a base palette of natural tones and accented it with pops of colour and unique fabrics to reflect the buzz of the city. The residents of the Showhome will enjoy the best of both worlds.”
Our Regional Sales & Marketing Director, James Nicholson, said: “Grand Union is set within 14 acres of open space alongside a fantastic stretch of the Grand Union Canal, but its close proximity to Stonebridge Park station means people can travel quickly and easily into the City. This allows our residents an unparalleled opportunity to have the very best of country and city living, which is what we, in collaboration with HWCD, have sought to reflect within this Showhome.”
