As seen in the Evening Standard Homes&Property, the Imperial College researcher who participated in a COVID-19 vaccine trial and supported in the development of new vaccine technology purchased his first home at Fulham Reach via the Discount Market Scheme (DMS).
Having rented in the Hammersmith and Fulham area for over 11 years, 32 year-old Florian Guitton was overjoyed to find a home of his own in Fulham Reach, just moments from his critical work, which involves researching COVID-19 vaccines at Imperial College.
“Finding a property so close to work, which was also within my budget, was a massive bonus for me, particularly during the pandemic when I was having to regularly visit the hospital or research lab. Being able to jump on a bus or walk along the Thames to work provided such a boost to my wellbeing.”
Florian purchased his new home through the DMS initiative, launched in partnership with St George and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham – which is a scheme available exclusively to those currently living or working in the borough. Residents pay a percentage of the open market value of the apartment while maintaining full ownership of the property.
Commenting on the scheme, Florian said: “I had been interested in the DMS homes being delivered by St George, and was excited to be offered the chance to view the homes at Fulham Reach. It was great timing as I was at a point in my career where I was able to buy my own home and the apartment at the development perfectly suited my needs.”
At Fulham Reach, all residents have access to an incredible range of private amenities through The Tamesis Club – a residents’ club which comprises a state-of-the-art gymnasium, a 15-metre swimming pool and a spa suite with a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and private treatment rooms. Florian commented: “I’m able to run up and down the Thames and then jump in the pool or go to the gym - it’s so convenient.”
Situated within the same building, there is also a 12-seat cinema room, snooker room, virtual golf simulator and wine cellar – all ideal for hosting guests. For those who enjoy spending time on the water, Fulham Reach Boat Club is opposite the development and is always open to new joiners.
Having grown up in rural Brittany, Florian was drawn to the more rural feel of the local area. Located along the River Thames and adjacent to Frank Banfield Park, but also within 30-minutes from Central London, Fulham Reach provides a mix of city living and serene waterside living.
“Having moved around London a fair bit, I always found myself drawn back to the same few streets. It is such a beautiful part of the city that somehow feels like it is in its own pocket of tranquillity. Being less than 30 minutes from the City and West End – it really has the best of both worlds”, says Florian.
In addition to being surrounded by green space, Fulham Reach is home to a wide selection of restaurants and cafes including Raymond Blanc’s Brasserie Blanc, the Blue Boat bar and restaurant, the renowned Michelin-starred River Café, and Sam’s Riverside along the river walk.
Alongside its prime riverside location, Fulham Reach has excellent transport links from nearby Hammersmith Station with fast access into the City and West End via the Hammersmith & City, Circle, District and Piccadilly tube lines.
Residents are also within close proximity to an extensive mix of high-end boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants along the famous King’s Road as well as the luxury shopping districts of Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Sloane Square.
The next phase of discount market apartments will be launching in Q1 2023. For further information or to register your interest, please contact our Fulham Reach Sales representatives on 020 3642 0279.
