The winners of the Berkeley Foundation Awards 2022 were revealed at an awards breakfast in March, with £21,000 donated to partner charities as part of the celebrations.
More than 100 guests joined the event, which recognises the achievements of charity partners, and the Berkeley staff, businesses and supply chain companies that support the Foundation’s work and make a difference to our local communities.
Last year the Berkeley Foundation celebrated ten years of social impact, with £23m committed to its charity partners between 2011 and 2021.
The judging panel, including guests judges from Imperial College London and Corporate Citizenship, shortlisted the award nominees, who then each received £1,000 for charities of their choice. The shortlisted nominees were chosen for their exemplary contributions to charity partnerships, including fundraising huge sums, which are then matched pound for pound by the Berkeley Foundation.
Award winners also bagged an extra £1,000 for their picks.
The partner charities receiving the prize money are Crisis, Demelza, ellenor, Evelina, London Children’s Hospital, Home-Start London, Honeypot Children’s Hospice , Mencap, Key4Life, Momentum, MyBnk, Rethink Mental Illness, SPEAR, The Change Foundation, The Grange Centre, The Rainbow Trust and Triangle Adventure Playground – the latter claiming £4,000 in prize money thanks to multiple wins for its partner Berkeley St Edward.
Sally Dickinson, Head of The Berkeley Foundation said: “It was fantastic to be back celebrating all those who make the Foundation what it is! The commitment of Berkeley Group staff, supply chain contacts and charity partners has been unwavering over our first decade. It feels great to be able to acknowledge their work and say thank you. It’s been a really inspiring morning seeing everyone enjoy the awards, and I hope the rest of the guests feel as energised as I do!”
