Charl Kleynhans, St George West London, was named Residential Construction Professional of the Year award at 2019 LABC Building Excellence Awards in November.
A panel of industry experts judged a list of the highest quality projects and teams from around England and Wales to reward the best in technical innovation, sustainability and design.
His fantastic work as a Project Manager at Beaufort Park won him the nomination, which was also endorsed by the Building Control team at the London Borough of Barnet.
The panel of expert judges said, "The judges agreed that Charl Kleynhans was the cornerstone of the Construction team at Beaufort Park. Charl has overseen the construction of approximately 815 apartments and continues to produce the high-quality homes both St George and their customers are proud of. He also went that extra mile and barbequed for an army of tradesmen on site."
LABC Chief Executive Paul Everall said, "It is always a pleasure to recognise individuals that go the extra mile. My congratulations to Charl, on behalf of everyone at LABC. It's a testament to his skills, dedication and eye for detail. His knowledge of health and safety and building regulations meant he is a deserving winner of the Residential Construction Professional of the Year award.
"Our building excellence awards are an opportunity for the industry to celebrate good practice. Our winners demonstrate how positive working relationships with public service building control teams achieve high quality, sustainable buildings. Our awards are unique because they recognise how this cooperation improves building standards and professionalism across the industry."
