St James unveils first showhome at riverside development in Old Isleworth.
Fitzroy Gate in Old Isleworth, a new development by award-winning developer St James bordering Richmond and St Margarets, has unveiled its first showhome. The five-bedroom, four story townhouse will for the first time allow prospective buyers to gain a true sense of the unique qualities of the historic, riverside location.
Fitzroy Gate is set within the grounds of a beautifully-restored estate on the banks of the River Thames in Old Isleworth. A collaboration between St James and Beechcroft Developments, the seven-acre site is being transformed into a luxury gated estate of 39 four, five and six-bedroom family homes and refurbished historical buildings. The site itself is Grade II listed with a number of buildings described as of historic, architectural and cultural value.
The new showhome showcases the significant potential of what a home at Fitzroy Gate has to offer. The five-bedroom home, set across four floors, features private terraces on both the first and third floors. It offers the perfect level of variety for either an established or growing family, with large and free-flowing receptions areas, a dining room and top-floor entertainment room, and both en-suite bathrooms and walk-in-wardrobes to three of the five bedrooms.
Elegant quality of design
A part of the Honywood Collection, the showhome demonstrates the highest specification of the collection with underfloor heating throughout, a gas fire in the reception room, Miele appliances throughout the kitchen, glazed bi-folding doors to the rear garden patio and two car parking spaces.
The showhome's interiors pair classic detailing with contemporary elegance. A combination of hardwood flooring with tactile textural wallcoverings set against a backdrop of soft neutral palettes creates a warm, sophisticated and homely environment. Designed by The London Design Group,
inspiration has been drawn from the tones and textures of the Palais Galliera in Paris, Bottega Veneta and Ralph Lauren. Each of the five bedrooms has a distinct style, with use of a variety of textures from satin to shagreen, with natural tones echoing the rustic luxury of the design.
Tranquil riverside-living
Enclosed by the original estate walls, the site's particular stretch of the Thames is one of the last remaining natural river banks along the Thames. Almost half of the development is dedicated to open space, with three acres of fully-landscaped private parkland to the rear of the estate, featuring mature trees and a beautiful large pond.
Each home by St James benefits from its own secluded garden, and many of the first floor terraces offer views to the river. The new development will also create a new public riverside footpath from Richmond Road to the existing Herons Place riverside walk.
Sean Ellis, Chairman of St James, comments: "Fitzroy Gate's location is one of a number of unique selling points - the development sits right on the river and is surrounded by greenery, both on the estate and further afield with Syon Park and Richmond Park just around the corner.
"Inside each home, Fitzroy Gate offers buyers all the benefits of open lateral living, but with an extra two storeys affording all members of the household their own space when needed."
Old Isleworth - a historic location
Located alongside the Thames and characterised by old Georgian and Victorian houses, Old Isleworth has a rich history and cultural heritage with connections to famous painters Vincent Van Gogh and William Turner as well as royals Henry VIII and King George III. This part of the River Thames was oft painted by Turner, and sits less than half a mile from the house in which Van Gogh lived.
A variety of external treatments, including red brick and white façades, have been selected to ensure that the architecture of the new reflects, and is considerate of, that of the existing buildings. This thoughtful approach complements and enhances the historic setting, seamlessly blending a mix of new-build and refurbished historical buildings in one place.
Prices start from £1,250,000. First completions are anticipated for summer 2017. For more information, or to register your interest, please call 020 3432 2981 or visit www.FitzroyGate.co.uk.
