St George Project Director for Dickens Yard David Charlwood has received the Ealing Network Employer of the Year Award, recognising his contribution in supporting 29 apprentices and seven work experience placements, as well as school and college visits to the Dickens Yard development site.
Kyle Murray-Arron who is training at the site with contractor Wilton Electrics, was shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year. Kyle is a 22 year old Acton resident who has been training to be an electrician since September 2015, studying one day a week at the College of North East London on a course supported by his employer.
David Charlwood, Project Director at St George, said:
"I have been working in the industry for 37 years and started my career through a management apprenticeship scheme. I and the rest of the Dickens Yard Team are passionate about supporting young people, so it is fantastic to receive the 2015 Ealing Network Employer of the Year Award."

Dickens Yard is a mixed-used development in Ealing town centre by St George, transforming a former council office and car park into a high quality mixed-use community with 698 homes, 110,000 sq ft of retail space, and three new public spaces.
Since construction started in 2010, Dickens Yard has supported 29 apprentices learning a range of management and construction trades including mechanical and electrical, carpentry, plastering, drylining, engineering and design skills, seven work experience placements, and visits from local schools including Christ the Saviour and colleges such as University of West London.
