St George, London's leading mixed use developer, is delighted to host the tenth annual Imperial Wharf Jazz Festival on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th September.After the success of the previous years, St George is hosting this free Jazz Festival at The Boulevard, Imperial Wharf featuring some of the world's most creative jazz musicians.
The exciting two day programme will begin on Friday 12th September with performances from award-winning young band Ezra Collective playing an electrifying set with vibrant afrobeat undertones. Headlining on Friday is one of the UK's leading good time bands, Jazz Jamaica, with special guest Myrna Hague guaranteed to be a soulful fusion of classic and modern jazz with traditional Jamaican music.
On Saturday 13th September the festival will open with Sara Spade & The Noisy Boys playing an uplifting blend of retro-pop swing and Manchester's rising stars of the Jazz scene, GoGo Penguin will also be performing. Continuing into the afternoon there will be performances from Liane Carroll Trio and award-winning acoustic guitarist Antonio Forcione.
The Saturday evening session welcomes double MOBO award winner saxophonist YolanDa Brown and headline performances by internationally acclaimed Roberto Pla's Latin Ensemble playing a vibrant mix of salsa music guaranteed to raise the crowds to their feet.
Situated at the heart of Imperial Wharf, the Jazz Festival provides a great atmosphere where visitors can enjoy a range of culinary delights from a selection of Lebanese dishes at Yamal Alsham, the taste of Thailand at Blue Elephant, the famous Young's Waterside bar and restaurant and highly popular Harris and Hoole coffee shop which will be serving a selection of hot and cold drinks and home made cakes. Visitors can also choose from a wide range of wines from Wimbledon Wine Cellar.
The Jazz Festival has been programmed and produced in partnership with St George by leading event production company ESIP, also behind the international concert series 'Made in the UK' and the Global Mix record label.
