Own a Piece of History

The house enjoyed its golden age under Sir Philip Sassoon, the renowned politician, art collector and society host who transformed Trent Park into one of England's most celebrated country estates. During the 1920s and 1930s, the Mansion House became one of the country's most sought-after social addresses, welcoming an extraordinary guest list that included Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and the future Queen Elizabeth II. A setting for lavish parties, distinguished guests and influential conversations, the estate became synonymous with elegance, influence and prestige. Many of the magnificent architectural features, formal gardens and sweeping landscapes enjoyed today are a lasting legacy of Sassoon's vision and commitment to creating a truly exceptional country estate.
The Mansion House later became the backdrop to one of Britain's most fascinating wartime stories. Behind its grand façade, Trent Park served as a secret intelligence centre where high-ranking German officers were held and their conversations discreetly monitored. The intelligence gathered played an important role in the Allied war effort, earning Trent Park a reputation as one of Britain's most significant wartime sites, often drawing comparisons to Bletchley Park.
