Head for the Surrey Hills

A wealth of fascinating vehicles sits in the collection here, with bomber planes, racing cars, motorbikes and biplanes all taking their place in this shrine for the motorheads of the world. Kids will love to get up close and personal with the exhibits, while adults with perhaps more of an appreciation for the finer side of motor engineering will marvel at the sheer scale of the collection. This is also the only museum in the world with an explorable Concorde jet.
Discover the colours of Winkworth Arboretum
Another choice destination for the nature lovers out there, the National Trust's Winkworth Arboretum is a kaleidoscopic haven for all manner of tree life. Pinks, reds, greens, purples and golds all appear in this area courtesy of countless species of different plants, with every season bringing a different outfit to Winkworth Arboretum's 230 acres of woodland. It's hard to pick the best season to visit, but autumn has to be a strong contender, with its spectacular warm hues and pleasant climate for walking.
