London is one of the most sparkling cities in the world all year round, but at Christmas time it becomes especially magical. Illuminated by the warm glow of festive light displays, there's no better place to be than on the streets of London to experience some of the most impressive Christmas lights displays in the world. Here at the Berkeley Group, we know where to head to make sure you see all of the very best...

Carnaby Street

Soho's spectacular Christmas lights are not to be missed. Carnaby Street plays host to a colourful display of Christmas lights every year, with this year's offering Queen themed. The 2018 display is in honour of the Bohemian Rhapsody movie that has been released about the band, with Freddy Mercury's iconic lyrics "Is this the real life, is this just fantasy?" emblazoned across the entrance. Take the tube to Oxford Circus where you'll find the bright lights of Carnaby Street just a short walk away. The lights have already been switched on and will remain at Carnaby Street until January 4th 2019.

South Bank

There's nothing more festive than Christmas at the South Bank centre. The Thames-side festive fun includes everything from pop up mulled wine stalls to hot dogs, churros and more sweet treats. Decorated with Christmas lights, the attractions start from mid-November time and remain through until January 2019. Take the tube to Waterloo for the quickest route to access the attractions, with Charing Cross and the Embankment stations just a short walk away.

Covent Garden

The cobbled streets of Covent Garden are made even more beautiful at Christmas time with the addition of a huge glowing Christmas tree in the piazza and the mistletoe chandeliers. This year's big switch on takes place on Tuesday 13th of November. Take the underground to Covent Garden and you'll be immersed in the festivities on arrival.

Oxford Street
