Ones to Watch at London Fashion Week

It's nearly time for one of the biggest fashion events of the year, from 14-18th September the 67th edition of London Fashion week returns to the capital city.

This event opens the doors to over 5,000 guests and 150 international designers all ready to showcase their latest collections. As well as the event always promising the arrival of some famous faces, a special guest made the front row at London Fashion Week earlier in the year, as Her Majesty the Queen made a surprise first-time appearance to the event in February.

This exciting, glamourous annual event continues to introduce a wave of fresh new talent to the city and there is seemingly no boundary for creativity. The British Fashion Council have also recently announced that the event will be the first of the big fashion weeks to ditch animal fur from its catwalks.

LFW September 2018 Highlights

New to the schedule this season is the London-based designer Bobby Abley, since making his namesake label in 2012 Abley has developed his own unique style with contemporary and nostalgic signature silhouettes. The young designer is known for his wit and humour and has created some uniquely playful pieces for some of the biggest names in pop, including Years & Years and ASAP Rocky - definitely one to watch out for this year.

With her unmistakable minimalistic signature, London-based designer Marta Jakubowski will showcase her designs during a catwalk show on September 14th. Jakubowski has gained international recognition for her designs, with evoked endorsement by the likes of BeyoncĂ© and Rihanna.

In celebration of her 10th year in the fashion business, on Sunday 18th Victoria Beckham is making an appearance and presenting her SS19 collection in London for the first time - this show is long-awaited and expected to be a popular addition to the line-up.

In addition to the highlights above, make sure that you look out for catwalk favourites, such as, Julien Macdonald (Saturday), CHALAYAN (Sunday) and Burberry (Monday). These designers always promise to put on a great show.
