The Gurkha Kitchen
A locals favourite The Gurkha Kitchen next to Oxted station serves incredible Nepalese food. If you're not sure what that includes, think unique herbs and spices, rice and lentil selections, fresh meat and fantastic fish.
Specialities include appetisers such as spiced squid or chicken liver stir-fried in Nepalese spices. For your main dish, there's a delicious slow-cooked knuckle of lamb, barbecued Rara chicken or traditional vegetable curry. And that's without the range of rice and sides!
On Sundays from 1 pm to 10 pm, the Gurkha hosts a buffet, where you can select from some of their most popular dishes. You'll get a choice of starters, mains, vegetable dishes, rice, bread to give you a host of specular flavours and the ultimate Sunday dining experience.
Cattle and Cocktail
In the heart of Oxted, Cattle and Cocktail bar and restaurant offer the best steak. And much more besides. Firstly, there's a wide range of cocktails, which are also offered as part of the takeaway service. Featured on the extensive drink menu is also a house special, the Beerito, the vibrant combination of Mexican lager and Mojito!
Scrumptious starters include bao buns and the delectable trio of halloumi sliders. Main courses range from speciality burgers to seafood classics and of course, multiple steak options. Cattle and Cocktail host weekly theme nights including Burger and Lobster night, Steak night and bottomless prosecco lunch every Saturday.
Thai Pad
Just by Oxted station is the bustling Thai Pad restaurant and bar. Popular for its selection of well-known and signature cocktails, its authentic food and takeaway service, it's another place that requires booking in advance. You can eat in the main restaurant or bar area and won't be disappointed with the food or service.
The spice guide ranges from beginner to advanced to allow you to select your preferred spice level and there are options for vegetarians and vegans. Your only difficulty during a visit to Thai Pad will be whether to feast on one of the delectable curries or one of the many grill selections. And you can't leave without sampling the phenomenal calamari.
On Sundays, two-course menus are available, and the lunch specials are ideal for business lunches or eating with friends as they will satisfy tastebuds as well as offering incredible value for money.
Brisk Burgers
A family favourite, nestled on the high street, Brisk is a diner loaded with authentic meat, vegetarian and vegan burgers, super salads, mac and cheese and decadent desserts. There's a wine list, local and craft beers and spirits.
Or you could try the milkshake menu ranging from traditional vanilla to the more adventurous salted caramel or Oreo. For children, there's a separate menu on a handy activity sheet to keep them entertained before the ice cream arrives!
Cucina
At the heart of the Oxted high street, located in a circa 1920's Tudor style, Cucina the Italian restaurant is packed with flavoursome food and friendly service to make it a wonderful dining experience. Whether it's lunch, family dinner, a night of celebration or dining with friends, Cucina won't disappoint. Feast on rich, traditional Italian fayre including a selection of hand-made stone-baked pizzas or one of the classic pasta dishes.
There's also risotto dishes and speciality seafood options including the seafood skewers or grilled seabass. Lighter choices include the vegetarian or steak salad or a traditional Caesar.
The only problem you'll have with eating out in Oxted is deciding where to go. With such a variety of options, all based in the centre of town within walking distance of the wonderful Courtyard Gardens, you'll be spoilt for choice.
