Berkeley Modular has selected Oracle's data-rich, cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system as part of an innovative digitally enabled, agile manufacturing platform.
The platform will integrate seamlessly with other software solutions and provide the basis for Berkeley Modular's core production planning function, and associated supply chain management, procure-to-pay, HR and resourcing processes. It will be closely integrated with the company's modelling environment and manufacturing systems technology to support a technologically-advanced approach to volumetric modular product manufacturing.
The technology is designed to be adaptive, so as Berkeley Modular's systems and capabilities advance over time, the ERP system will evolve to ensure that the company is always ahead of the curve.
The ERP system is updated regularly by Oracle to incorporate the latest in emerging technologies and make them available for all of its partners to utilise - this will potentially include augmented reality and virtual reality, both of which could be easily accommodated into Berkeley Modular's modelling environment.
Oracle invests over $5 billion per year in its cloud-based ERP platform to ensure that it remains the most advanced on the market, and by partnering with Oracle Berkeley Modular is effectively future-proofing the business as it continues to evolve.
Partnering with Oracle is in line with Berkeley Modular's intent to be a leading practitioner in the offsite sector, using technologically advanced manufacturing technologies to create high quality, high performing homes.
