A device to prevent back injuries, designed by a former soldier collaborating with a Harley Street spinal clinic, and a revolutionary detector of hand arm vibrations that currently affect 300,000 workers across the UK, are among the first wave of innovations awarded funding today.

We have for a short period only stopped taking formal applications to the fund as we have now committed the initial £2m that was allocated from the Berkeley Group 'Our Vision' strategy for the 2014-16 period. We are also taking the opportunity to review the scope and operational arrangements that underpin the fund.
We envisage the next phase of funding to be open to new applications during summer 2016 and look forward to receiving your application soon.
